    THE PURPOSE:
    The primary role of the Country Director for Saudi Arabia is to develop strong, credible, long term relationships and oversea / manage the initial development of VHO projects, and delivering project goals to time, quality and cost. You will provide and be seen as a providing category leadership and direction to the project teams and driving / leading the initial project phases in Saudi Arabia. You are responsible for working alongside the regional public relations and communications team to support and execute marketing, communications and business growth activities, and be accountable and responsible for budgets and ensuring client expectations are met.

    THE ROLE:
    • You will be responsible for managing the day to day operations within Saudi Arabia. This involves taking responsibility for managing and executing business development, marketing and comm’s initiatives, ensuring project progress and project metrics like, time, cost and quality whilst aligning with corporate goals and objectives.
    • Safety is paramount and you will ensure that safety of your staff and others employed on VHO works is a priority. It will be key that you drive a safety culture and encourage employees to follow appropriate safety procedures and policies as needed.
    • Develop and establish suitably competent teams for the management, supervision and execution of projects and ensure adequate resources are maintained to achieve the objectives of the business, with set budgetary limits. Take the lead as necessary and provide guidance and direction to ensure they meet both corporate and client expectations.
    • Participates in strategic corporate and regional business planning activities for the Middle East and India region.
    • Develop and maintain strong client focus, ensuring you are constant point of contact with key external stakeholders in country. This will require the need to develop and have strong understanding of the key client organisations and harness and develop existing relationships to further establish VHO in the Kingdom.
    • Agreeing annual budgets and producing a detailed annual business plans. Effective project progress reporting, and tracking of budget performance is a must.
    • A key part of your role will be to produce regional performance reports, which could be on a monthly or quarterly basis.
    • You are expected to recruit and manage staff, including their performance monitoring, and possibly mentoring and training in line with growth projections.
    • Encourage employee development in line with competencies – continuous improvement via utilisation of Performance Management process.
    • Champion, establish and maintain ultimate responsibility for health and safety, and environmental to ensure compliance with legislation, corporate procedures and objectives.
    • Manage and direct external consultants and ensure they meet budget expectations.
    • Draft clear and concise project RFP’s to enable high quality bids to be returned.
    • Support the Managing Director ME&I
    • Work in a regional capacity, to develop, coordinate and maintain regional workload
    • Attend and represent VHO at conferences and speaking events.

    THE CANDIDATE:
    • A strong knowledge and understanding of the transport and infrastructure business in KSA.
    • Ideally you will have hands on experience of working with major transport / infrastructure organizations in the KSA and have a credible track record.
    • You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, to successfully influence and respectfully challenge colleagues in relation to upholding standards.
    • Ability to lead and motivate teams and colleagues.
    • Thrive working in multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Ability to plan and prioritise complex work in a rapidly changing environment.
    • Results delivery oriented with the ability to consistently produce high-quality work products under tight deadlines.
    • Ability to develop long lasting senior political relationships via strong credibility and confidence.

    MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
    • Degree in Engineering or Project Management
    • Member of a recognised institute (Engineering or Project Management)
    • Have a credible track record of working in the Kingdom
    • Have a minimum of 5 – 10 years as a senior manager based in the Middle East preferably with Saudi Arabia experience.

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
    • Excellent analytics capabilities
    • Must be able to effectively use all major software programmes in MS Office
    • Experience of schedule management, cost management tools and systems is a bonus
    • Experience of PPP or PFI infrastructure projects is desirable.
