The Gramin Welfare Society of Samra in Chamba district urges the government to construct a tunnel beneath the Jot Pass from Chamba to link the Chowari to access to Pathankot more conveniently.

The distance between the Northern Indian cities of Chamba (Himachal Pradesh) and Pathankot (Punjab) is only about 103 kilimetres but travel takes almost 3 hours because of mountains.
