First expressway tunneling project with tunnel boring machine (TBM) began  expressway tunneling project for the first time in China. China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC) make TBM.

The 15.36-km expressway tunnel is the longest in southwest China, linking Leshan to Xichang in Sichuan Province.
