Chile releases the 2nd concession Santiago-Valparaíso-Viña del Mar, Route 68 road interconnection. 4 Tunnels

    The government of Chile has just released the second concession for Santiago-Valparaíso-Viña del Mar, Route 68 road interconnection.

    This road infrastructure comprises a total of 141.3 km of which 109.6 km of Route 68; 21.0 km from Route 62 (South Trunk) and 10.7 km from Route 60-CH (Vía Las Palmas). This road constitutes the main route that connects the Metropolitan and Valparaíso regions.

    It has four tunnels, 16 bridges, 22 interchanges and fourteen crossings, to this is added 40.2 km of urban service streets, 19.6 km of rural service streets and fifteen pedestrian walkways, among others. This route favors the smooth and safe transport of cargo and passengers. Its layout allows easy access to the port of Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Quilpué and other inland cities, through the South Trunk and the Camino Las Palmas. The route also improves west accessibility to Greater Santiago, the Américo Vespucio beltway and the industrial sector of Quilicura.
