Kontan write that government has changed its attitude in the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project. Now, the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) is ready to be disbursed to fund the project. The State Budget will be given in the form of State Capital Participation (PMN) to PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI).

Kontan quote a KCIC executive saying it is government business. KCIC (PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China) is a joint venture between a consortium of SOEs through PSBI (PT Pilar Sinergi BUMN Indonesia) and a consortium of Chinese railway companies through Beijing Yawan HSR Co.Ltd.

The KCIC executive (GM Corporate Secretary of PT KCIC Mirza Soraya) instead focus on construction being carried out. He say,  completion rate for Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train as of end-September 2021 is 79%.

The high speed train was in public eyes recently because of a cost overrun of US$ 1.9 billion from original US$ 6.07 billion to US$ 8.6 billion.
