Norway's Statpipe pipeline is to have a new landing tunnel at the cost of NOK 300 million wothout VAT. Statpipe is a natural gas pipeline linking country's northern North Sea gas fields with the Norway's gas export network.

    AF Gruppen has this:

AF Gruppen has been nominated for a contract with Equinor on behalf of Gassco and Gassled JV for the construction of a new landing tunnel for the Statpipe pipelines on Karmøy. The existing landing culvert at Kalstø in Karmøy municipality will be replaced by a new landfall. Equinor has nominated AF Gruppen as the executive contractor for the construction work. The works include blasting of approx. 1.7 km tunnel, including a deflection of 60 meters below sea level, concrete works and installations for the laying of new pipelines.

The work is planned to start in April 2022 and will be completed in 2024.

The agreement has a value of approximately NOK 300 million ex. VAT.

    - AF Gruppen once built the landfall for the Åsgard pipelines on Kalstø. Now we look forward to coming back and continuing the good collaboration with Equinor in a new project. The assignment gives us the opportunity to use our core competence within tunnels and experience with onshore facilities for the oil and gas sector, says Geir Flåta, Executive Vice President of AF Gruppen.
