Tunnel job in Aus - Sydney - Tunnelling Undergraduate Engineer

    The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $2.6bn M6 Stage 1 project.  The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.

    With works commencing in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.

    The Opportunity

    The M6 Stage 1 Project is looking for a motivated civil or mining engineering student to join our Tunnel Team.

    Some of your daily responsibilities will include;

        Work collaboratively with the Project Team
        Track planned activities and deliverables against project schedule and plan on a weekly basis
        Assisting with collating information and reporting against project targets
        Undertaking any ad-hoc initiatives and tasks, as directed by the team
        Performing duties in accordance with project processes, systems, and procedures

    About You

    We are looking for someone to join our team and be available to work full time during university breaks and at least two days a week during the semester.

    Ideally you will bring the following skills and attributes;

        Currently studying a civil or mining engineering degree or similar
        Excellent communication skills
        Excellent organisation and time management skills
        Strong computer skills and intermediate Microsoft Office skills
        Comfortable with learning new technology & systems
        Excellent attention to detail  
        Can-do attitude

     The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
