Western Sydney Airport Station Boxes & Tunnelling Works
CPB Contractors in joint venture with Ghella have been selected by the NSW Government to deliver to deliver the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport Station Boxes and Tunnelling Works (WSA-SBT). The project will involve the design and construction of a new metro tunnel around 9.8 kilometres in length between St Marys in the north and the Aerotropolis Core precinct in the south (the area to be called Bradfield). The design and construction scope includes the following:
two sections of twin running, tunnel boring machines, tunnels with a total combined length of approximately 9.8 km, plus associated portal dive structures and tunnel support activities
station box excavations with temporary ground support at St Marys, Orchard Hills, Western Sydney Airport Terminal, Western Sydney Aerotropolis and two intermediate service facilities, one in each of the tunnel sections.
Major works are scheduled to commence in 2022 and continue until 2025.
Your opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to work with the project management team to lead the development and maintenance of the safety culture on the Project, including the provision of highly influential expert advice and safety leadership.
As a Safety Manager you will also be accountable for:
Leading the SH team to deliver timely and quality services to the Project
Assessing the effectiveness, safety and efficiencies of operations
Championing a culture that priorities safety
Managing relationships with key Project, Partner company and Client Stakeholders
Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements
Liaising with unions regarding safety concerns
Our minimum requirements for this role are:
Demonstrated experience in managing a SH function on a large civil construction project
Experience leading large teams
Tertiary qualifications in OHS desirable
Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation
Experience in implementing management systems
Excellent communication and influencing skills
