    You will:

    • Plan and design tunnels, shafts, and significant underground civil infrastructure.

    • Understand, develop and learn the importance of constructible solutions.

    • Lead AECOM safety in design principles.

    • Support and lead multidisciplinary teams in the transport, water and power sectors.

    • Lead your team members in technical aspects and assist the coordination of work.

    • Support and lead bids and tenders including tender design.

    • Communicate with engineering staff as part of a multidisciplinary team.

    • Interface and communicate with clients.

    • Prepare and monitor packages of work in line with an agreed scope and budget.

    • Lead specific packages of work depending on size and/or complexity.

    • Review work delivered by other engineers.

    • Mentor and support junior engineers.

    • Display excellent technical and soft skills in the delivery of consultancy work.

    • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Develop plans relating to the delivery of technical aspects of projects

    • Be experienced in concrete and ideally steelwork design as it relates to underground civil infrastructure

    • Be experienced in designing of tunnel and shaft support systems in soft ground and/or rock• Be experienced in numerical analysis methods including 2D and 3D finite element models• Be experienced in writing technical reports

    • Be experienced in the methods and techniques used in the design of tunnel linings including segmental, jacked, cast insitu, sprayed concrete, masonry/blockwork, rock bolted/anchored and unlined.

    • Be experienced in the methods and techniques used in the design of shafts including segmental, secant piled, diaphragm wall and sprayed concrete

    • Be experienced in soil structure interaction and understanding geotechnical requirements.

    • The preferred candidates would ideally have a civil/structural engineering background.
