Tunnel / Trenchless Engineer, Burnaby, Canada

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Geotechnical engineering associated with the trenchless design and construction of municipal water and wastewater conveyance facilities

    • Prepare documentation for design projects and reports

    • Prepare construction cost estimates

    • Preparation of project specifications and contract documents

    • Perform constructability reviews

    • Perform construction inspections

    • Carry out numerical/analytical analyses and design calculations for underground structures.

    • Prepare and review design drawings.

    • Review and evaluate contractor submittals

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements :

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering or related field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or education

    • Experience with tunnel/trenchless projects and construction inspection

    Preferred Qualifications :

    • Relevant experience in North America

    • Eligible for registration as a P.Eng with EGBC

    • Training and experience in project management

    • Experience in proposal writing and job scoping

    • Excellent written skills needed for technical reports

    • Proficient with MS Office Suite

    • Valid BC Class V Driver's License

    • Excellent attention to detail

    • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients

    • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment
