    Job Description

    Mott MacDonald Singapore is currently recruiting a Tunnel Engineer (Graduate) to work in our Transport Sector. Our tunnel experts plan, design, assess and support the operations and systems of tunnels – metro, road, rail, water, utility – throughout the full project life cycle. You will be involved in a range of tunnelling projects. The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer fantastic opportunities for skill set and career development.     Within this role you will support the detailed design tunnel engineering and calculations, technical reporting, soil reports, and support engineering tasks across a wide range of award-winning transport infrastructure projects. These projects include North-South Corridor, HS2 in the UK, Sydney Metro, Changi Airport Terminal 5, and Jakarta MRT.     As part of the role, key responsibilities will include:

    • Involved in the delivery of a wide range of engineering projects including deep underground excavations, and MRT/metro projects.
    • Involved in the various stages of projects including strategy evaluation, detailed appraisal, concept development, detailed design, and administration of contracts.
    • A role in driving the unit tunnels practice plan.
    • Prepare and outline detailed tunnel/geotechnical engineering designs and calculations.
    • Attend meetings with clients, contractors, and authority organisations
    • Visiting construction sites to carry out site inspection and site supervision
    • Coordinate with various parties (team members, clients, government authorities) on design and stakeholder interface.
    • Liaising and working together within the project team of engineers and drafters
    • Support ad-hoc tasks assigned by supervisor

    Candidate Specification

    About You:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering from a good university.
    • Specialisation in tunnels and tunnelling during university studies is advantageous.
    • Strong interest in tunnels and tunnelling and wishing to pursue a career in tunnel engineering.
    • Self-motivated, analytical with a learning mindset.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication & presentation skills.
    • Excellent written communication with great attention to detail.
    • Team player with the ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
    • A digital aptitude, strong learning mindset and interest to commit to driving social and sustainable outcomes in all that we do.
    • Collaborative, open, and constructive approach.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • A team player who is enthusiastic, driven and committed.
