Statens vegvesen, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, announces competition for the construction of a new E136 between Breivika and Lerstad in the municipality of Ålesund.
The new road will mainly go in a tunnel of 2.6 kilometers, and will relieve today's Lerstadveg and E136 through the districts Moa and Åse. There will be a new top-notch intersection in the west, and pedestrian and bicycle paths on the entire stretch.
-New entry road to Ålesund through Lerstad has been planned for over 40 years, and is the largest and most comprehensive measure in Bypakke Ålesund. Now we are shining and looking forward to the dialogue with the market, says Ole Kristian Birkeland, project manager at Statens vegvesen.
When the tunnel is completed, it will give a big boost for the district. Review traffic is moved away from the local area, and a new pedestrian and bicycle path makes it safer to move in the area.
Procurement with negotiation
The work is announced as an execution contract, and the process is carried out as procurement with prequalification and negotiation.
The registration deadline for the contractors is June 20. Negotiations will continue during the autumn, with the goal of signing a contract in December. 2.6 kilometers of two-run tunnel with day zone at both ends.
The contract includes, among other things:
On the Lerstad side of the tunnel, preparatory work is completed. In Breivika, work is well underway and will be ready for the fall. The carving on both sides will be ready at the start of the contract that is now highlighted.
