Skanska, one of the largest contractors in the Nordic countries, is ready to receive four new tunnel rigs from Epiroc - the new and high -tech boomer E20 S and three Boomer XE3. Equipped with advanced functions, the rigs will deliver first -class performance and value in the construction of, among other things, the world's longest and deepest subsea road tunnel, E39 Rogfast.
As one of the leading tunnels in the tunnel with "Drill & Blast" globally, Skanska has a long history of choosing drilling rigs from Epiroc in its business. At the moment, Skanska has fourteen tunnel rigs from Epiroc in production in various places in Norway.
"We have been very pleased with the drilling rigs from Epiroc, and we are sure that these new supplements will contribute to stable and secure productivity," says Roar Lindalen, subject manager underground machines for Skanska.
Skanska has several large projects in Norway where the tunnel rigs will be used. One of them is part of E39 Rogfast, which will be the world's longest and deepest submarine road tunnel with a maximum depth of 392 meters below sea level and a length of 27 km. Another project is the road project E10/Rv 85 in Northern Norway, which includes the construction and operation of 82 kilometers of new and upgraded road with seven new tunnels and 22 bridges.
"This delivery is another example of our products meeting the highest standards in terms of safety and productivity," says Espen Paulseth, marketing manager for underground machines in Epiroc Norway.
Boomer XE3 is the best -selling tunnel rig in Norway. The drilling rig stands out in tunnel and mining projects thanks to extensive coverage area, efficient long-hole drilling, high drilling presition and high machine accessibility. With Epirocs Rig Control System RCS 5, the operator can easily monitor and control all rig functions and maintain better focus on safe drilling.
