Hyundai E&C ( Hyundai Engineering & Construction) won an order for the 1st section of Geomdan Extension Line of Incheon Urban Railroad Line 1, which amounted to KRW 1925 billion. Hyundai E&C won the contract with Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. including Yeongdong, Kukwon and Wonkwang Construction.

The Geomdan Extension Line 1 project connects Geomdan New City to Incheon Gyeyang Station, totaling 6.895km. The first section of Hyundai E & C received 3.3km in total, extending from Danam-ro, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon to Wondang-dong.

This construction is expected to apply the optimal compounding method through mechanized excavation of all sections including shield TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) and high-performance road header, and the construction period is 65 months from the start date.

An official of Hyundai E & C said, “We have successfully won additional orders in the civil engineering field following the order of Gimpo-Paju Section 2 based on our excellent technology, quality, and many years of experience.”
