Norway's national highway administration Nye Veier have set the working community Skanska Norge AS and Johs. J. Syltern AS together with adviser Ramboll, for the design and construction of a new E6 between Berkåk and Vindåsliene in the southern part of Trøndelag.

In the next few months, the contractor and adviser will make the necessary preparations to start the construction. At the same time, they should ensure good solutions for the implementation itself. Construction can start during the spring of 2024, and the road will be completed during the autumn of 2027.

    - The goal of the new E6, which is a central national traffic wound, is increased traffic safety, better flow in traffic and stimulate growth and development in a large region. Now we look forward to getting started with the work with Skanska and Syltern. This stretch is an important part of the development of the E6 south of Trondheim, says Anette Aanesland, CEO of New Roads.

    - There has been good competition for the contract. Four contractors were eligible for the tender phase. Skanska Norge AS and Johs. J. Syltern AS is two solid players in the Norwegian construction industry, and we have high expectations for the cooperation over the next few years. Their solutions also contribute well to climate and the environment. Among other things, they have highlighted a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by more than 50 per cent compared to the zoning plan, says Aanesland.

There will be a new E6 from Berkåk in Rennebu municipality to Vindåsliene in Midtre Gauldal municipality in the south of Trøndelag. The road is about 15 km. A four -lane road will mainly be built on the stretch, which today has both a high proportion of heavy traffic (about 30 %) and is very accident -prone. The value of the upcoming contract for construction of all the way is approximately NOK 2.2 billion exclusive options and VAT. The contract includes a total contract for design, construction and guarantee liability.

E6 through Trøndelag connects the southern and northern parts of the country. This is a very important main road for local, regional and national business. Today's standard on the road mainly with two fields is neither adapted to today's nor the future traffic.
