    Senior Project Engineer - Tunnel Ventilation Systems

     

    Relocation Authorized: International - Camp

    Position Summary:

    A Sr. Project Engineer (TVS) must work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the Engineering Department to oversee Tunnel ventilation System activities, including pumped drainage, fire main, evacuation walkway, and planning and implementation, and ensure robust justifications and technical assurance to help the Tunnel S.

    The Planning Project Manager, Systems Assurance, and Integration Manager need help managing Signaling System delivery for Backbone planning according to the Programme and client needs.

    Collaboration between the planning consultant and client is crucial. Working with the Planning Project Manager, the Sr. Project Engineer will schedule regular meetings with the planning consultant, client sectors, and external stakeholders to manage, coordinate, and ensure planning.

     

    Major Responsibilities:

    •  Manage workloads for Tunnel Ventilation Systems Engineering, ensuring cost-effective, safe, and environmentally liable outcomes.
    • Assist System Assurance and Integration Manager in reviewing and approving planning and delivery contractor Safety Cases for elements, products, and systems.
    • Manage planning evaluation of consultant's hazard and risk logs, as well as contractors' HAZIDs, HAZOPs, IDCs/IDRs, and QRAs.
    • Assist with risk identification and system safety analysis for HAZIDs, HAZOPs, IDCs/IDRs, QRAs, and other safety assessments, including ALARP rationale.
    • Assist with system safety assurance documentation and requirements management.
    • Assist in coordinating Tunnel Systems requirements, verifying and formalizing information from external sources.
    • Contributing to the NEOM Projects risk register and engaging in its frequent assessment during the project.
    • Reviewing contractor inspection and test plans for Tunnel Systems.
    • Assist NEOM Projects with contact with Shadow Operator, ISA, and Rail Operators.
    • Address feedback from subject matter experts, planning review team, Independent Checking Engineer, and Independent Safety Assessors on deliverables.
    •  Implement safety management processes for Consultants and contractors, identifying risks in railway planning .
    • Verify TVS planning buildability and material suitability. · Visit jobsite as needed to resolve issues, interpret drawings, and offer technical assistance during construction.
    • Collaborate with Contracts and Construction teams to support pre-construction procurement and create planning documentation for planning -build or planning -bid-build tender packages.
    • Review and define changes to TVS planning scope, material quantities, budget, and schedule.
    • Actively participate in TVS and transdisciplinary planning reviews, providing feedback.
    • Actively participate in client's Stage Review and Approval Procedure.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    •  Accredited degree or postgraduate education in science or engineering, with 15+ years of experience in TVS planning management for rail projects.
    • Experience with tunnel systems for high-speed rail, freight, and metro railways.
    • Experience in planning -build and planning -bid-build procurement with contractors and consultants.
    • Experience in a live construction environment with safety hazards like moving trains and 25kV overhead line electrification.
    • Knows EN 50126, EN 50128, and EN 50129 standards principles.
    • Familiar with European, American, and international civil engineering and railway norms and standards,
    • Extensive experience in Tunnel Systems equipment, systems, and processes, including planning , CFD modeling, testing, commissioning, and handover.
    • Familiar with Tunnel Ventilation System acoustics and noise concerns.
    • Familiar with Requirements Management and related tools.
    • Proficiency in discipline engineering methodologies, system planning , and planning calculations.
    • Proficiency with latest engineering and planning software, including AutoCAD, MS Word, and Excel for handling planning reviews.
    • A professional license from a recognized board is required.
    • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and written communication abilities.
