It is JV Implenia Stangeland E39 E02 ANS who will build the E02 contract from Kvitsøy, announced the Statens vegvesen, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

This is the largest contract in Statens vegvesen as a execution contract with a contract sum of as much as NOK 6 238 016 052.

The contract includes about 8,8 km of two -run tunnel with a cross section of 10,5 meters, and will be built both to the south and north from Kvitsøy, and includes, among other things, the complicated top -lane intersection inside the mountain with the ramps towards Kvitsøy. E02 will eventually meet both E03, which is being built from the south in Randaberg municipality, and E04 built by Skanska Norge AS from the north in Bokn municipality. The total length of Rogfast is 26.7 kilometers, which will then be the world's longest and deepest subsea road tunnel when it is completed in 2033.

    - I am very pleased with that we have now signed and can keep up with this important project. We look forward to a good cooperation in the implementation, says division director Kjell Inge Davik.

    - Two vertical ventilation shafts will be built which is about 230 meters deep and 8.6 meters and 9.4 meters in diameter. These, together with several ventilation tunnels, will directly use the air out one shaft and bring fresh air into the other shaft. The contract also includes 17 technical buildings, 154 emergency stations, 38 cross connections between the races, five pumping stations, etc., says project manager for E39 Rogfast at Kvitsøy, Sveinung Bruder.

In addition, about 1.6 kilometers of road will be built in the day, pedestrian and bicycle paths, and a bridge of about 20 meters. About two million stone cubic meters from the tunnel will be filled in two sea fills and the largest sea filling becomes commercial area on Kvitsøy.

    - We are proud and happy to be selected to do this job with Stangeland Maskin. E02 Kvitsøy fits very well into Implenia's strategy to perform complex infrastructure projects. Here we will fully utilize our expertise in the tunnel, concrete and water and frost protection, ”says CEO of Implenia Norway, Berger Johannessen.

Managing Director of Stangeland Maskin Tommy Stangeland agrees that the project fits the working community well.

    - The E02 parsell is a big and challenging project, and we in Stangeland Maskin are shown that we aim high and are a leader in mass relocation and ground work. And we are happy to do that in collaboration with our good partners in Implenia.

The work at Kvitsøy starts already after the summer holidays and will continue where the previous contract ended, which is about 230 meters below the sea surface.

This project means a lot for the future of Kvitsøy - the fact that we get a mainland connection is something that maybe someone thought would never happen - now it will happen in 2033! Then Kvitsøy stands in a completely different position than the municipality does today - we are then in the middle of the butter island in Rogaland with a quick connection to both Haugalandet and Nord -Jæren. We look forward to further developing what we have gained through this project, such as the huge business area with deepwater quay. We want to lie in the middle of the butterfly eye in the industry, and not least be an attractive place for those who want to live in a rural setting and work centrally, says Mayor of Kvitsøy Kjell André Nordbø.
