    Arna-Stanghelle: New important step to realize Norway's largest transport project

    Statens vegvesen (the Norwegian Public Roads Administration) announces a billion agreement for the joint project Arna-Stanghelle (FAS). - This counseling agreement is the largest ever to be announced in Norway. This is an important step in realizing the largest transport project in recent times, says Transport Minister Jon-Ivar Nygård.

    In line with the promise in the state budget for 2025, Statens vegvesen has announced a framework agreement of up to NOK 2.2 billion with a possible duration of 8 years. The contract will be open to both national and international players, with a deadline of 21. March.

    The project that brought the country together

    Arna-Stanghelle is an important part of the main transport corridor between Bergen and Oslo, connecting the country from West to East. The project includes both new roads and railways. Today, the stretch is characterized by low standards, incapacitated closures, tunnels in need of maintenance and upgrades, and landslide-prone sections.
