Last year, the consortium lead by Turkish company MAKYOL had won the contract to build the Meseș lot including the namesake tunnel of the Transylvania expressway. But then the Italian company Webuild appealed at the National Council for resolution (CNSC). Also another appeal by Mapa was filed. Pending decision, the signing of the contract with MAKYOL has been postponed.
Even after appeals were rejected by CNSC, Webuild has tried their luck at Bucharest Court of Appeal (CAB). But now they also get rejected there. That means finally the construction of the 41 -kilometer Meseș lot between the Sălajului Gate and Nușfalău on the Transilvania Highway can now start with MAKYOL.
