Tunnel under the Libertowska Mountain

The Lesser Poland Voivode issued a decision to permission to implement a road investment (ZRID) for the expansion of 1.1 km of national road No. 7 in Libertów. The modernization of the communication system and the change in technical infrastructure will allow for a safe departure from Krakow towards Zakopane.

Tunnel, footbridges ...

As part of the investment, we will liquidate the intersection of Zakopane from ul. Góra Libertowska and ul. Light. Under DK7 we will build a 52 m tunnel that will allow you to travel between the eastern and western part of Libertów. We will improve and complement the local road network along the Zakopane, which will allow drivers to use the tunnel and enter DK7 towards Krakow and Myślenice. The municipal and poviat roads adjacent to the investment will be connected to additional roads parallel to Zakopane.

Expansion of DK7 in Libertów and liquidation of lights at the intersection of Zakopane from ul. Góra Libertowska and ul. The luminous will increase the capacity of this section. We will also build three footbridges - around the liquidated intersection, on Mount Libertowska and on the Libertów and Gaj border. They will replace existing pedestrian crossings.

Along the Zakopane, a local road network will be improved and completed, which will allow drivers to use the tunnel and enter DK7 towards Krakow and Myślenice. We will expand the liaison road on the eastern side of the route in Libertów and rebuild entrances to the property. We will also build two roundabouts. The first uprising at the intersection of ul. Light, liaison road parallel to Zakopane and a road that enables the traffic on DK7 in the place of the liquidated intersection. Second at the intersection of ul. John Paul II and the liaison road leading to the tunnel near Zakopianka.

We will liquidate the right turns from Zakopianka, in ul. Wesoła in Libertów (driving from Krakow) and in ul. Parkowa in Gaj (driving from Myślenice). It will no longer be possible to leave these streets on DK7, and municipal roads will be connected to connecting roads parallel to Zakopane.

As part of the investment, we will also build acoustic screens, a pedestrian and bicycle route along the liaison road between ul. Jana Pawła II and ul. Przylesie and two culverts on the Olszynka stream on access roads.
What now

In February, the construction site will be handed over to the contractor. The investment (in the design and build system) is carried out by Przedsiębiorstwo Engineering Imb-Podbeskidzie. The cost of work is almost PLN 150 million. The contractor is to end the works by mid -2027.
Modernization of Zakopane

The expansion of the road system in Libertów is the next stage of the Zakopane Modernization Program we have consistently implemented by us between Krakow and Myślenice. Its purpose is to increase the capacity of this route and improve safety, both drivers and pedestrians.

Last year, we put into use the road junction in Gaj and the Footbridge in Mogilany and Głogoczów. We build another two knots - in Krzyszkowice and Myślenice. We prepare the documentation necessary to obtain a building permit for the next such node in Jawornik.
