There is consensus in Prague on the route of the high-speed line from Vršovice
The Central Commission of the Ministry of Transport has decided on the form of the high-speed line (VRT) in the area of Prague 15 and Dolní Měcholupy. Trains from Vršovice to Běchovice will run mainly underground in short tunnels and open cuts. This is a compromise solution agreed upon by the Railway Administration, the Prague Municipality and the affected city districts.

For the route between Rabakovská Street and Malý Háj, a decision was made between three options – tunnel, underground and aboveground. The underground option ultimately received support thanks to its balanced ratio between technical feasibility, financial requirements and minimization of impacts on the surrounding area.

From the beginning of the project, the Railway Administration has conducted an extensive dialogue with the public, representatives and experts. Citizens were able to participate through public discussions, commented walks through the area or online sensory maps. A working group was established to oversee the incorporation of comments from city districts and the city into the route design.

Press release of Správa Železnic (SŽ), the Czech Republic's railway infrastructure operator.
