Mesta AS enters into a five-year contract with Statens vegvesen (the Norwegian Public Roads Administration) for the operation and maintenance of electrical installations along national and European roads in the Innlandet Region and Øvre Romerike.
Mesta AS will operate and maintain electrical installations in all tunnels on the national road network in the Innlandet Region and Øvre Romerike. In addition, they will ensure the operation and maintenance of signaling systems, wind warning systems and other electrical installations along the roads.
The contract has a value of NOK 72 million. It applies from 1 September 2025 and for five years, with the possibility of an additional three years.
Mesta will also operate and maintain all road electrical installations along the national road network in Buskerud for Statens vegvesen for the same period.
Lowest price won
Mesta AS won the electrical contract in the Inlandett Region and Øvre Romerike based on the lowest price, which was the award criterion in this competition.

Contract area and content of the contract
The assignment includes responsibility for operation and maintenance of the electrical installations on national and European roads in Innlandet and Øvre Romerike, which totals approx. 1,730 kilometers of road.
The contract area runs through 51 municipalities and applies to these sections:
E6 Dal – Dovrefjell
E16 Swedish border - Kløfta
E16 Gardermoen – Valdres – Tyinkrysset
E136 Dombås – Romsdalen
National road 2 Magnor – Elverum
National road 3 Stange – Orkdalen
National road 4 Gjelleråsen – Biri
National road 15 Otta – Grotli
National road 25 Elverum – Swedish border
The contract covers the following electrical installations:
18 tunnels with electrical installations, including cameras
8 traffic signal installations
135 traffic recording stations
25 points for automatic traffic control
254 variable signs (excluding tunnels)
24 free text signs
24 barriers (excluding tunnels)
64 cameras (excluding tunnels)
15 pumping stations
10 speed limit signs
2 mountain passes
