On May 12, 2025, in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure, Alenka Bratušek, MA, we at DARS celebrated an important milestone in the construction of the third development axis – the breakthrough of the Konovo tunnel. The ceremony took place at the northern portal of the tunnel in the area of ​​the Municipality of Velenje.

The 497-meter-long Konovo tunnel is built by Austrian company Strabag. Tunnel is part of the 1.8-kilometer-long connecting road to Velenje and Slovenj Gradec motorway.
