The community in the wine growing Swiss village of Twann is divided by the plans for constructing a tunnel. The village lies by the beautiful lake of Biel. But it separated from the lake by railway tracks and a road. The plan is to move the road to a tunnel. Although the plan has already been approved years ago, out of blue came the campaign against the tunnel. People against the tunnel say that it will cause the loss of vineyards due to construction and dumping of excavated ground. The supporters say this is an opportunity to take the road traffic and its noise away. They also say that in the future a rail tunnel will also take away the railway tunnels and the village will have all obstacles for accessing the lake removed, as well as all that noise.
