Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) offers to build Britain's HS2 and save ‘tens of billions’

    The Chinese company has sent a letter directly to the Mark Thurston, the CEO of High Speed Two (HS2) Limited company responsible for the execution of the Britain's much discussed project.

    The Building magazine reports that, in the letter, the Chinese say they can complete the whole project in 5 years and also at a cost close to the original budget of £56bn (current estimate is £106bn). The CRCC says that they would also raise the maximum speeds to  420km/h, 80km/h faster than current. maximum of 340km/h.

    It is reported that HS2 CEO had met some people from the Chinese railway industry in Beijing.
