Salmankaş Tüneli is finished. A 3 hour journey now take half hour.  Salmankaş tunnel is one of many tunnels Türkiye buıild between Karadeniz (Blacksea) to Doğu Anadolu (East Anatolian) region.Tunnel is between Araklı town in Trabzon province and Bayburt province.

Salmankaş Tünnel is a twin-tube road tunnel. Each tunnel tube is  4030 meter long.

Tunnel is built under 4,150 m high Kuzey Anadolu Dağları (North Anatolian Mountains). Tunnel replace dangerous and very steep (2.280 metre high) Salmankaş Geçidi (pass).

Tunnel built by Turkish tunnel construction company As-Yol Yapı. Cost of tunnel is  ₺170 million.

Construction of tunnel started in 23 August 2012 with groundbreaking ceremony. NATM (New Austrian Tunnelling Method) used. Tunnel breakthrough was fastly on 24 November 2013. Construction of viaducts and other work was slower.
