Sydney Metro West: 'Once-in-a-century infrastructure investment' Tendering Process Started for the First Two Contracts of almost 50km long rail tunnel

New South Wales (NSW) Minister for Transport & Roads Andrew Constance starts the Sydney Metro West tendering process. Government officially opens the EOI (Expressions of Interest) window for the first two contracts of the almost 50 kilometer long subway tunnel project:

Package 1: From Westmead to Sydney Olympic Park

Package 2: From Sydney Olympic Park to The Bays

Sydney Metro West is an underground metro railway that will link the Parramatta and Sydney Central Business Districts (CDB), and communities in between. Sydney Metro (of NSW government) site boasts "This once-in-a-century infrastructure investment will double the rail capacity of the Parramatta to Sydney CBD corridor with a travel time target between the two centres of about 20 minutes".

At NSW government site, All in all, the whole Sydney Metro is described as the "Australia’s biggest public transport project" saying "This new standalone railway will deliver 31 metro stations and more than 66 kilometres of new metro rail, revolutionising the way Australia’s biggest city travels".
