CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture (CYP D&C) has been contracted to design and build the tunnels and stations for the Metro Tunnel Project.

CYP D&C brings together three of Australia's leading construction partners John Holland, Lendlease, and Bouygues Construction.

The Metro Tunnel Project will untangle the City Loop by taking three of Melbourne’s busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city. It will create a new end-to-end train line from Sunbury to Cranbourne/Pakenham, with twin nine-kilometre tunnels and five new underground stations at Arden (to be renamed North Melbourne), Parkville, Anzac, and two new CBD stations - State Library and Town Hall - which will directly connect to the City Loop.

We are recruiting for a Senior Site Manager to provide plan and deliver all relevant scopes of construction work to ensure effective delivery of planned schedules within the planned time and budget on this iconic Melbourne project.

Responsibilities of the role include;

    Oversee the on-site delivery of defined scopes of work (delivery of precinct value approx. $700m) on schedule with all stakeholder expectations met.
    Construction planning and execution of all day-to-day activities associated with construction of the Station Box
    Manage a team for Foremen and Supervisors across a Station providing leadership and delegating responsibilities to ensure work progress safely, on time and to budget
    Provide and take leadership responsibility in health, safety and environment management.
    Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key personnel informed.
    Manage industrial relations issues and implications and develop appropriate resolution.
    Ensure compliance in commercial and financial management including meeting budgets and identifying cost saving measures.
    Provide leadership in risk management, identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and build a risk management culture.
    Review progress against plans, contractual arrangements and delivery milestones to ensure they are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates and take remedial action as required.
    Review design documentation, read drawings, provide constructive review and oversee implementation of final designs.
    Perform all duties in accordance with CYP policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

    Trade qualifications or similar
    Minimum 15-20 years previous construction experience in a similar role.
    People and performance management of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour.
    Skill in review of design documentation, ability to understand drawings, provide constructability review and implement final design plans.
