Today (06 May 2020) Møre og Romsdal County Municipality has announced the landslide protection project fv. 63 Korsmyra-Indreeide. Møre og Romsdal county lies in roughly 600 kilometers north of Norway's capiltal city Oslo.

Contractors have a deadline to submit bids until July 8.

Below is a short translation. You can reach the original (Norwegian) on the Municipality website. It is also possible to reach the contact person on the same page: https://mrfylke.no/nyheiter/bygger-skredsikringstunnel-til-geiranger

The contract is a comprehensive contract that includes the design and construction of:
    • 4.8 km tunnel and 100 meter tunnel portals.
    • Complete electrical work for the project.
    • 400 meters of road a day with connection to existing road networks.
    • A 25 meter long bridge.
    • A 135 meter long lead for landslides

Fv. 63 is the only access road for Geiranger in winter.  The landslide project secures 13 registered landslides. The annual traffic is 630 vehicles on average, but varies from 1500 vehicles per day during the summer season to 200 vehicles per day during the winter.

The project is estimated to have a value of NOK 840 million.

The contract is awarded to the contractor who delivers the offer with the best price / quality ratio. The quality is assessed on the basis of the implementation plan, the contractor's organization and key personnel.
