It is official. Commercial Court judge at Chalon officially pronounces the death of the Mühlhauser Tunneling Equipment company. The company is better known as the NFM Technologies. Once-famous French TBM company.
Judge requires the compulsory liquidation of the company. The judge ruled it was necessary. The company did not have any work for months. It had no orders last 2 years and none for future.
According to Creusot Infos, this was a long awaited and postponed decision. Remaining 30 workers had not been paid salaries for several months and it was the hope of the workers that company's assets are sold and then company's creditors are paid with the money gained from the sale. It was a dissappointment when judge did not order liquidation almost two months ago.
When the French TBM company NFM was acquired by German tunneling company Mühlhauser more than a year ago, there was such a hope in the air. But shortly afterwards Mühlhauser went into troubles declaring bankruptcy. Later parts of Mühlhauser put on market for sale. Some months ago, again not paid for salaries, NFM Technologies workers had gone to temporary strike. This time there is no strike yet. No was buyer insterested in buying the company from the unfaithful hands of Mühlhauser. The bankrupt Germany company was like a husband never comes home and never takes care of family.
The company was based in the small town of Creusot. According to Creusot Infos, town people are proud that subways in Athens, Cairo, Paris, London and train tunnels in the Netherlands and even the first geological exploration tunnels for the Lyon - Turin tunnel have been bored using NFM TBM.
For now, the workers are sad but at least have a closure, hopefully will get their unpaid salaries after liquidation. "We hope that there will be a buyer for these beautiful workshops. We just want to work, get back to normal activity, as quickly as possible ” says Ilhan Korkmaz, the leader of the workers, writes Creusot Infos.
It’s over for Tunneling Equipment (ex-Mülhauser and NFM Technologies): justice has declared compulsory liquidation without continuing the activities of the last manufacturer of tunnel boring machines in France, located in Le Creusot, in Saône-et-Loire.
They write a company interested for take over. But it is not a tunnel company I think. NFM has 2 million debt.
The last TBM company of France is away.

NFM factory in Le Creusot is taken over by the Matière group. The Commercial Court of Chalon sur Saône accepted the offer of the group. The company also takes over the remaining workers of the NFM. I think the factory will not be used for producing TBM anymore.
L’entreprise spécialisée dans les ponts pendulaires a été choisie par le Tribunal de Commerce. Elle souhaite conforter et développer son activité sur Le Creusot et reprendrait la totalité des effectifs.
