Russian TASS agency say yesterday at 10:30 under construction Zheleznitsa Tunnel collapsed. 3 Workers injured.

Zheleznitsa Tunnel is on the new Struma road. The length is 2.2 km after completion. Contract value 94.78 million Euro without VAT. European Tenders database say contractor is Bulgarian consortium of DZZD AM Struma Tunnel 2018 (GP Group AD, Global Construction Ltd.VIA Plan EOOD). Tunnelling experience of any of these companies is not known by me.

Struma Motorway under construction runs from Bulgaria's capital Sofia to Kulata just before the Greece border. It is part of European Corridor running from Miskolc in Hungary to Salonika in Greece.

On Struma motorway there are two tunnels. Zheleznitsa Tunnel is under construction. And Kresna Gorge Tunnel which has problematic design and construction history of its own.
