High-speed maglev train line between Tokyo and Nagoya delayed from 2027 date. Because state governor did not approve construction. Because of environmental damage. Train to go 500km per hour speed.
Only portion of the train rail construction not started is 8.9km tunnel under Southern Japan Alps. People against tunnel. Especially farmers afraid they will loose ground water. Because ground water will flow into tunnel. JR Central train company of Japan plan pumps to divert water in tunnel. It did not convince.
