Between February and June, there was only 2% progress for the construction of Karnaphuli tunnel in Bangladesh. They blame coronavirus. They blame Chinese workers not returning back after Chinese new year.

Karnaphuli Tunnel is 9 kilometres with 3.4 kilometres under the Karnaphuli River, they say. China gives more than half of the money spent for the construction. China gives US$705.0 million of total cost of US$ 1.05 billion. 

Only total 55% of work completed to date by the contractor company from China. Bangladeshi Financial Express claim construction started on February 24 in 2019.

China Communication Construction Company Ltd did the feasibility and also now do the construction the newspaper says.
