WTC2020 Kuala Lumpur has been cancelled as a physical event. It will be held as a virtual event
According to Tunnel magazine, the World Tunnel Congress 2020 in Kuala Lumpur has been cancelled. Instead of being held in Kuala Lumpur, the event will be held virtually on Internet. This is what IEM (Institute of Engineers Malaysia) has informed the International Tunnelling Association, ITA.
WTC2020 Kuala Lumpur was already postponed to September this year from its original date in May, due to the coronavirus pandemy.
Tunnel writes that there is some dispute over the refunds for the cancelled congress between the ITA and IEM. Since the Malaysians have already spent much money for the preparations and booking of the venues, they are not able to give the full refund.
