Statens vegvesen is to announce one of these days the winning consortium for the Sotrasambandet project.

Sotrasambandet (Sotra Connection) the new main land connection between Sotra/Øygarden and Bergen has, in addition to roads bridges etc also 8 tunnels 3 of them being pedestrian or bike tunnels. In total 11km of bored tunnels will be constructed:

The Kolltveit Tunnel , 950 metres long

The Straume Tunnel, 850 metres long

The Knarrvika Tunnel 750 metres long

The Drotningsvik Tunnel 2000 metres long

The Harafjell Tunnel, reconstruction .3 tunnels for pedestrians/cyclists; Janahaugen, Kiplehaugen and Harafjellet.

In total, 4 Consortia had shown interest but in late May, Statens vegvesen eliminated the consortium compresed of China Communications Construction Company, Sichuan Road and Bridge Corporation and Gülermak Ağır Sanayi İnşaat ve Taahhüt.

And nowadays one of these three consortia will get the job:

FCC Construcción S.A., Salini Impregilo S.p.A., SK Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. and Macquarie Corporate Holdings Pty Limited

ITINERA S.p.A., IHI Corporation and ASTM S.p.A.

VINCI Concessions S.A.S., VINCI Highways S.A.S., Acciona Concesiones S.L. and Implenia Switzerland Ltd.
