Türkiye's most respected newspaper Cumhuriyet write that İzmir Büyükkent (metropolitan) municipality is opening a new tender for a 2,5 kilometer two-tube Buca Tunnel.

The new başkan (mayor) Tunç Soyer restart the project. This is second tender for this Buca-Bornova tunnel. A company called HGG İnşaat Anonim Şirketi won original tender with 109 million 900 thousand TL but this company was unreliable and ran away from project legally citing temporary 4th article "Cancellation and Transfer of Contracts and  of law 4735.

This is second tender for that project. Certainly municipality is more careful with references and contractor fundamental data this time.
