Kolkata East-West tunnelling re-suspended after 40 tunnel workers test COVID-19 positive
Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation (KMRC or KMRCL) says 40 workers working for the operation of TBM Urvi have been diagnosed with COVID-19 disease caused by coronavirus. Therefore tunnelling operation which had re-started about a month ago have been suspended again writes TImes of India, a respected source.
170 Further workers have also been tested because they came into contact with the COVID-19 positive workers. Their test results have not been received yet.
Kolkata East-West Metro officials from KMRC say, tunnelling cannot start before the end of July.
