Virginia Raggi, the first female mayor of Roma, announced that the tunnelling for Metro Line C would restart. Tunnelling had stopped when the the money was used up.  The city has allocated 10 million euros for the tunnelling. Obviously this money will not be enough. We expect that later more funds will be made available.

The "moles" of Metro C have started to dig again, from the Imperial Forums towards Piazza Venezia. We go ahead with a great work that the city has been waiting for for decades and which will improve the quality and offer of public transport, connecting the suburbs to the heart of the city.

We reiterated this today also in the visit to the Metro C construction site together with the Councilor for the City in Movement Pietro Calabrese, the President of the Mobility Commission Enrico Stefàno and the leaders of Roma Metropolitane and Metro C.

Thanks to the funds obtained from the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport and allocated in our last Budget variation, around 10 million euros, we continue with the construction of the tunnels towards Piazza Venezia.

Through the path we have taken, we have shown that there is a different way to carry out major works, thanks to a careful knowledge of the area and the definition of clear projects, supported by solid foundations and authoritative studies. Now the goal is to think about the future of Line C and deliver a project for the entire section up to Clodius to the Ministry.

By enhancing metro and railway lines - and investing hand in hand in soft and sustainable mobility, with the creation of a new network of cycle paths and pedestrian areas - we are making Rome more modern and accessible.
