When CPB Samsung John Holland tunnel boring machines started boring near their houses for the M4 tunnels of the WestConnex scheme, two dozen houses in a Sydney neighbourhood got cracks on their walls.
When they called the insurance companies, their claimed rejected because the insurance companies sais the tunnel construction was the reason. When they contacted WestConnex, they denied it was because of the tunnelling. Then would come an independent commission to rule on the situation.
That was more than two years ago. They are still waiting. They are still living in their houses with damaged foundations. In the worst case, their houses can collapse on them and in the best case, how can you sleep at night when the ceiling plaster can fall on you?
Shame on the ones not taking their responsibility on this matter and letting people live through this.
