Astaldi start excavation of Bătuta Tunnel that connects Romania with West
Border-Simeria railway in Romania is important for Europe. It is part of TEN-T axis 22 Nuremberg - Prague - Vienna - Budapest - Curtici - Simeria - Brașov - Bucharest - Constanța railway. On this railway Astaldi SpA - FCC Construccion SA - Salcef Construzioni Edili e Ferroviarie SpA - SC Thales Systems Romania SRL started in July 2020 excavation of Bătuta railway tunnel.
Bătuta tunnel 603 metre long. It is located on the left bank of the Mureș River. It wil contain two railway tracks. One in each direction. This short tunnel is very important for Europe because of TEN-T axis.
