Indian newspapers report that, amid Chinese aggression on our borders, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) may scrap the previous tender where Chinese companies were shortlisted on basis of national security.

In February 2020, a company from China called Shanghai Tunnelling Engineering Company (STEC) was approved by BMC for building  two sewer water tunnels, 10km long between Borivli and Goregaon.

It is reported that BMC may reverse from this grave mistake and re-invite tenders for the tunnels. This is confirmed by a municipal authority according to Hindustan Times.
