Tunnelling to start for the $5.4 billion Cross River Rail
Brisbane's Cross River Rail Tunnel Boring Machines will be boring the 5.9 km twin tubes. The tubes will go under the Brisbane River and the central business district. Cross River Rail project is one of the largest infrastructure projects undertaken by Queensland and probably also in Australia.
The project is described as "Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, which includes 5.9 kilometres of twin tunnels under the Brisbane River and CBD" on the project site.
