According to a local French press `Le Creusot`, French workers of Mühlhauser NFM are not hapy because their salaries are not paid on time. French TBM company NFM was acquired by German tunneling company Mühlhauser short time ago.
They say:
"That can not continue. It has been eight months since the company NFM Technologies was taken over by the Mühlhauser company and once again our salary was not paid to us on time ".
Subsequently the workers called for several hours of walkouts for day and night.
Breakdowns "to make our leaders understand that this situation is unacceptable and that we can not work calmly, being afraid to be without pay at the end of the month. Management must understand that we will all fight to assert our rights to work in good conditions and in safety, for all those who work in our society. "
"No wages were to be paid before the end of the month. And there is no information. We are told that it will be paid, that there has been a problem, but we are not given a date, "says an employee. He does not fail to recall: "For the month of February, we were paid only on March 8 and twice".
Employees are worried for future because they say Muhlhauser NFM was counting on selling TBM to Los Angeles metro but that did not happen.
Also mentioned in the news that the TBM in the factory cannot be completed because they cannot get the parts because suppliers also are not paid.
The labour union CGT organizes the walk out not only for the 31 workers at Creusot factory but also for those in Lyon factory.
you can read it (in French language) on the website of Le Creusot:
Date of the article is 1 july 2019. It is not clear what has changed then, Anybody has information?
It is a good practice that companies treat their individual units as independent business units with their own incomes and costs. This is how good companies post profits by dividing company into units as small as possible and then making them accountable for the costs and profits. This is an accepted good business practice and this is how most successful German companies operate too.
NFM may be fighting a loosing battle. Herrenknecht and some Chinese TBM companies are very competitive. Japanese TBM producers can be pretty competitive if they choose to be, via the leverage of their bleeding edge technology. What has the NFM got?
Again no salary paid at Mühlhauser NFM Technologies.

it is an indication that Muhlhauser treats NFM as an outsider and maybe with no inclination to support it with the resources of Muhlhauser. This is not a merger, Bad news for NFM.
