CEO of Australian construction company John Holland says major Australian contractors are on the brink of bankruptcy. John Holland is owned by China's state-owned company China Communications Construction Company.

John Holland is better known nowadays for walking away from its commitments regarding the West Gate tunnel project of Melbourne. John Holland and the other contractor CPB Contractors were together in the consortium which would deliver the West Gate tunnel project.
