Herrenknecht also produce its Tunnel boring machines in China?

    I thought Herrenknecht produce TBMs in Germany. But Australian press say

    "Once they are in the ground, the German boring machines - manufactured in China by Herrenknecht - will operate 24/7 and tunnel about 10 metres per day. "

      I do not know specifically about Herrenknecht but it is standard industry practice to manufacture some parts in China in tunnel industry. I believe Australian company Terratec does almost all its manufacturing in China for example. The reason is cost reduction.

      Everybody does it for keeping costs low. If Herrenknecht is doing it I am sure it is for parts that can be produced anywhere. I mean ordinary manufacturing. Welding so on.
