    Hadselfjord Strønstad tunnel

Nordland county will meet in December to discuss a fixed link beneath the Hadselfjord. The tunnel would connect the Lofoten and Vesterålen vastly stimulating the local economy.

Lofotposten writes that Nordland county council, like  Statens vegvesen (Norway's Public Roads Administration) prefers the Strønstad tunnel concept among the available options. The idea an underwater tunnel of 10 to 11 kilometers long between Austvågøya and Hadseløya. It would be located approximately four kilometers west of Lofastkrysset by Fiskebøl and approximately 1.5 kilometers northwest of Melbu.
