The tunnels that run under the city’s downtown core, next to métro stations, pedestrian walkways and parking garages, are set for a 10-year makeover, starting next year.
The utilitarian Ville-Marie and Viger tunnels may not get much love from Montrealers, but Transport Quebec engineers still marvel at their ingenuity — 45 years after the first tunnel opened.
