Chennai CMRL invites bids for Corridor 5 Underground twin tunnels and stations

    Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has floated the tender for the underground works of the package UG-06 of the Phase II  Corridor 5 (Line 5) metro line construction.

    The 47-km long Line 5 of Chennai Metro will connect Madhavaram to Sholinganallur and have 48 stations. 42 Elevated and 6 underground. This package UG-06 is the part with 5.8 km long underground works and according to Metro Rail News, it is the only underground section of the Line 5.

    CMRL tender site summarizes the work as:

    Tender No: CMRL/CON/PHASE-II/CORR-5/CP06/UG06/2021(under JICA loan agreement ID-P272)-“Construction of underground stations at Kolathur, Srinivasa  Nagar,  Villivakam  Sub-urban  Station,  Villivakam  bus-terminus  and Nathamuniwith entry / exit, ventilation shafts, plumbing, earthmat, architectural finishes  including  signages  etc.  includingtwin  bored  tunnels  from  Kolathur retrieval  shaft  to  Nathamuni launching  shaft  and  ramps  with  U-section  in corridor-5 of CMRL phase-IIproject”.

    The winning company is expected to finish the work in 1395 days (roughly in 3.8 years).

    The bid documents can be downloaded from the CPP PORTAL http://eprocure.gov.in/eprocure/app as of date 17/01/2021 at a price of NR  40,000/-(Rupees  Forty  Thousand  only).

    The Pre-bid meeting will be held on 23/02/2021 at 11:00 hours in the CMRL Conference Room, followed by site visit.

    The last date for clarifications is 02/03/2021 up to 18:00 hours.

    The last date for submitting bids: 07/05/2021 up to 15:00 hours.

    The date and time of opening bids: 08/05/2021 up to 15:00 hours.
