Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin declare the last tunnel in the south-west part of Bolshaya Koltsevaya (Big Circle) metro line as completed. The stations of the tunnel, "Davydkovo", "Aminevskaya", "Michurinsky Prospekt" and "Prospect Vernadsky" will be completed by the end of the year.
Moscow Changes report that tunnel route ran in unstable soils with water-saturated sands and soft-plastic clays and loams.TBM Nadezhda started boring the tunnel from the Davydkovo station for the last piece of south western part of Moscow Metro's Big Circle Line (BCL) almost 10 months ago. The Tunnel is 1,45km long and double-track 6 meters in diameter. Tunnel lies average 35 meters below ground under residential area of Fili-Davydkovo area and under the river of Setun.
Total length of the BCL is 70 kilometers. it is planned to open 31 stations. Modern tunneling complexes lay up to 12 meters of tunnels per day, even in the most difficult sections. It will finish in 2023.
