Yeosu-Namhae Undersea Tunnel passes preliminary study

    38 National and local road construction projects, including the Yeosu-Namhae Undersea Tunnel and Busan Gadeok Bridge-Songjeong IC, have passed the preliminary feasibility study, Yesta. A total of 117 projects have been evaluated and Yeosu-Namhae Undersea Tunnel  is among the 38 that passed.

    Projects that have passed Yesta will be included in the 5th national road/local map construction plan to be announced next month, and projects will be promoted sequentially according to priorities.

    38 projects that obtained an AHP of 0.5 or higher out of a total of 117 projects secured validity and passed the Yeta.

    The Namhae-Yeosu Undersea Tunnel Project is a project that connects Seomyeon, Namhae-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do to Sangam-dong, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do. Tunnel 7.3 km, including a 4.2 km undersea tunnel section, 1.73 km of an onshore tunnel, and 1.37 km of an access road. Expected to open in 2029 with an cost of 631.2 billion won.
